We are looking to add more talent to Benton Harbor, Michigan team.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Plans, directs, and coordinates all related facilities and maintenance activities. Collaborates with senior leadership and plant personnel to understand plantwide needs that ultimately service the Gast customer. Supervises maintenance and facilities personnel. Responsible for maintaining positive employee relations by teaching and encouraging team-oriented problem solving, provides training to subordinates, and administers employee discipline when necessary. Maintain a continuous improvement mindset focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth/Innovation. Utilizing engineering methodology, act as a forward-thinking change agent that can help move the manufacturing and facilities processes toward automation flow. Maintain an attention to detail focus to meet deadlines and action planning.
This position requires onsite presence.
Communicates effectively both orally and in writing, maintains detailed and accurate records, and prepares clear and concise reports.
Ability to apply engineering principles and techniques to obtain solutions for equipment, buildings, and infrastructure.
Vendor management experience; hire and coordinate outside vendors.
Manages maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and controls budgets.
Understand and use maintenance software to maintain equipment records, generate work orders, and maintain/monitor preventative maintenance on all equipment.
Ability to collaborate with the EHS team to ensure robust environmental management, which may include maintaining records of hazardous waste & materials, log paint usage, maintain storm water pollution inspection, manifests, permits, BSI audits, and quarterly environmental reports.
Demonstrated knowledge of environmental regulations, OSHA, and ISO quality management systems.
Experience maintaining fire protection equipment, heating and air conditioning systems, water, gas, storm, and sewer lines, and warehouse racking.
Handles security of all auditable fire alarms, ensures all window/door alarm switches are active and operational, maintain plant shut down procedure, and keeps updated call-in list.
Work with other departments within the corporation to ensure cost reduction efforts are being addressed, implemented, and sustained.

Identify and help facilitate organization wide or individual work cell lean/continuous improvement initiatives.
Serve as an internal manufacturing process consultant for product groups, management, product development engineering, marketing, and sales.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Experience in identification of large cost centers and systematically driving improvement to obtain organizational goals
Background with selection and implementation of automated equipment
Proactive -- possess a strong sense of ownership and drive to success utilizing available resources.
Well organized must have ability to address tactical issues in the short-term while maintaining long-term project plan
Must be comfortable working under pressure with solid problem-solving methodology
Ability to motivate and drive others to deliver results

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:
Sustainable performance improvements in Safety, Quality, OTD, Lead-time reduction, Inventory Turns, and PBIT.
Improve maintenance labor utilization by maintaining and tracking team efficiency of work order/maintenance tasks; update, monitor, and improve monthly visibility using the CMMS program.
Analyze machining cells capabilities and potential line reconfiguration to maximize productivity and material flow.
Identify and implement transformational manufacturing processes (automation implementation, Poke-Yoke processes, material movement technology)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, business, engineering discipline, or technical degree; Advanced degree preferred
4+ years of production experience and managerial experience preferred.
Strong continuous improvement background with knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean and Value Stream Mapping
Authorized to work in the United States.
