Description:

Overall Purpose

Provide sales service to a client base in a specified territory based on the annual ADS Sales Commission Plan. Oversee assigned activities within the territory which may include maintaining both municipal

and Consultant Engineer accounts. Penetrate and dominate the Wastewater Collection System Management market, specifically in the areas of flow, level and rain monitoring services and related products.

Job Responsibilities

1. Attend to sales activities in a specific sales region, which may include generating leads, generating sales proposals, negotiating and procuring sales contracts, delivering signed contracts to operations.

2. Responsible for business/client development within a region, including cold call meetings and developing strategies to meet an individual clients needs.

3. Join and participate in local industry associations.

4. Conceptual sales and closing accounts with Municipal Wastewater customers and consulting engineering customers.

5. Meet and/or exceed individual revenue threshold.

6. Timely follow-up on leads generated through both corporate and regional efforts.

7. Daily and weekly reporting of prospecting activities, schedules, opportunity management and contract status.

8. Abide by on-the-job site safety requirements.

9. Attend and participate in both regional and national conferences and sales seminars, including giving technical presentations.

10. Initiate Project kick-off meetings prior to project start-up.

11. Work closely with Operations to determine specific project requirements and assist in contract interpretation and client interface.

12. Complete Special Projects as requested.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical or Engineering field, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years experience in an engineering or sales role with a strong drive for sales.

  • 2-3 years’ experience in the marketing of industrial products through distributors.

The physical, mental/visual and work environment demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical Demands:

  • Requires use of hands and arms at least 60% of the time.

  • Majority of the time is spent sitting.

  • Approximately 20% of the time is spent bending and crouching.

  • Lifting requirements are generally less than 10 lbs.Manual lifting could reach the company maximum of 65 lbs.

  • Travel with overnight stay is required, including, but not limited to airports, airplanes, taxis, rental cars and hotels. Up to 50% of time may be spent travelling.

  • Noise exposure is light to moderate.

Mental/Visual Demands:

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Application Engineer identifies future customers and advises current customers in the application of BAND-IT products to meet specialized Engineered Application needs. Help engineers design and specify BAND-IT products to provide joining solutions. Make sales calls to new and existing customer prospects as required. Supports the BAND-IT business cross functionally to promote BAND-IT product.

REPORTING TO : Business Line Director, Service and Project Solutions

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain, support and grow new and existing OEM accounts

  • Gains expertise on product and application for assigned OEM markets, focused on acquisition of new customers.

  • Contacts potential customers and answers inquiries to aid customers, sales reps and distributors in the selection of products, application tools/methods and materials.

  • Makes recommendations to the New Product Development / Product Improvement Team (NPD/PI) resulting in new or improved products derived from market research, using VOC methods, technical service work or personal observations.

  • Coordinates advertising and sales promotion activities with the Marketing Communications Specialist.

  • Regularly contact and follow up with customer prospects.

  • Facilitate and ensure prompt and thorough answers to new customer inquiries, document in database, communicate trends and findings to organization.

  • Participates in trade shows.

  • Reports all new application data to Product/Marketing Manager

  • Assists with testing of current product in order to provide technical data to support existing business lines cross functionally
