The Business Development Leader will lead a dedicated project team of an application engineer, business development managers in US & Europe, and product engineer to develop a product solution and commercialization strategy for targeted growth opportunities. The position will evaluate engineered fastening applications in a variety of markets and determine where BAND-IT could leverage their core competencies to solve pain points within the market while increasing sales. They will be responsible for generating innovation that will allow Band-It to win in these identified markets. They will own everything from business case to launch and adoption of the solution. The Business Development Leader will be measured on the solution’s ability to generate increased profit, market share gain and overall customer satisfaction. This position will be at the Denver, CO location.

The Business Development Leader will report directly to the President with a primary focus of leading the largest global growth opportunities for the business. They will have a project team dedicated to development and sale of the product solution globally. They will need to develop a business strategy to win encompassing the 4-P’s (Product, Place, Price and Promotion). This person will be an influencer on the overall direction of the global business and have dedicated resources targeted to develop new business segments or grow existing markets faster than the current trajectory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Band-It is seeking a champion, with a winning spirit, that can provide evidence that they grasp and can excel in the following areas:
Ability to analyze engineered fastening applications and determine the best target for BAND-IT based on the market attractiveness, application needs, and ability to differentiate the solution.
Lead voice of customer research to quickly learn a market, end user needs, decision makers, route to market, and value drivers to develop a winning strategy.
Lead product innovation sessions around the application, targeted customer’s problem, and potential technology solutions with engineering team.
Successful execution of a staged NPD Process in a manufacturing environment
Define the product solution and lead the trade-offs through the development process.
Ability to balance feature set with speed to market during development process.
Gather and manage product feedback through surveys, concept testing, analytics tools, and prototype testing.
Ability to develop a value proposition, value sell materials, and targeted market claims for a product solution to drive market adoption and achieve market share goals.
Proficient in value-based pricing strategies and ability to partner with sales to sell value of a solution to capture maximum price.
Development of a commercialization strategy which includes optimal route to market to reach the end user, sales approach to gain speed to adoption (ex. Demo sales approach), focused targets, and marketing strategies to ensure awareness.
Commercial process improvements acting as a persistent catalyst for change to drive growth.
Strategy & Market Analysis
Develop an overall business strategy to win in a targeted market with a differentiated BAND-IT solution included a business case for the investment.
Define product vision and roadmap for the targeted market with clarify on feasibility, time, cost and impact.
Develop market insights through voice of customer research, in-depth competitive analysis and market share/trend analysis.
Determine feasibility and viability of a concept using customer feedback and market data.
Identify target customers for new application and/or product and a value sell approach to win the business.
Craft and shape the business/product strategy, functional product requirements, commercialization recommendation, and ultimately, own the transformation of a validated concept into a new product or new application in the targeted growth areas.
Identify targets for revenue, margin, and investment.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary and cross functional team to define product requirements, design features, concept test and deliver innovative solutions with the goal of securing product market fit and growth.
Be decisive on whether a concept continues to the next phase of the product innovation lifecycle or is killed based on the ability to deliver the financials of the business case.
Continuously rebalance product / service features which maximize value and minimize effort to focus on the highest -returning initiatives
Develop a channel strategy to optimize profitability and market share for the solution based on understanding decision makers and influencers in the purchase process.
Understand BAND-IT’s current go to market strategy in that market, if one exists, and develop channel conflict mitigation strategies if the optimal route to market is different.
Lead the marketing plan to launch the solution with the goal of awareness, lead generation, and ultimately revenue growth.

Experience within the telecommunication industry is preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in related area (marketing, business, engineering). MBA preferred
5+ years product management, marketing, or business development experience, with increasing responsibility in a manufacturing or industrial environment
5 years experience leading the development of new products or solutions
2 years experience working with value based pricing strategies. Pricing analysis/models
International experience will be considered a plus
