Summary:

The Senior Front-End Developer is to deliver high-quality software as part of a high-performance software development team. Your primary responsibilities will be to create award-winning software solutions and guide others using innovative technologies. To succeed in this role, you will have a passion for Agile software development with multi-terabyte datasets, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and ship high-quality software that delivers value for our customers.

We’re a globally distributed team that embraces the culture of remote working. We have some developers in our home office in Huntsville, Alabama and some throughout the United States. We use Slack to stay connected and do in-person hackathons often. We move fast by building our products in the Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystem using agile software development techniques, automated testing, continuous integration, and microservices. Our backend stack is ASP.NET Core and Azure CosmosDB, and front-end is done with Angular and TypeScript. Our machine learning and AI systems are built on Python, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn. We self-manage our projects through Azure DevOps (VSTS) with Git source control repositories. We’re a cross-platform team, so you’ll get to work on your own preferred operating system (Windows, Mac, or Linux).

Primary Duties:

  • Work with a team that includes front-end developers, back-end developers, data scientists, business analysts, QA and documentation to create compelling software products for our customers.

  • Enhance our primary applications by developing on the front-end with Angular and TypeScript.

  • Improve UI performance throughout our application using best practices.

  • Work effectively with a globally distributed team in assigning tasks to junior developers and giving feedback appropriately.

  • Participate in all aspects of software development: from estimating to scheduling, to implementation and then release.

  • Provide input on improving the software organization to increase throughput, improve quality, and continuously improve processes.

  • Lead and direct 4 UI developers

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 10+ years experience with Angular 9+, HTML5, and CSS or equivalent client-side frameworks.

  • 10+ years experience as a software developer in an agile software environment

  • Can work on multiple projects simultaneously and can self-manage project issues by notifying appropriate stakeholders of risks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with charting tools, such as HighCharts or D3js.

  • Knowledge and experience shipping software in the Azure Cloud using .NET Core, Angular, TypeScript.

  • Familiarity with Continuous Delivery, DevOps, and Release Management in the Microsoft Azure Cloud with a bias towards shipping code often.

  • Self-motivated to learn and stay on top of new technologies. Able to train others on newer technologies that promote real business value.
