Summary This role requires software development life cycle expertise, a demonstrated passion/discipline for developing and sustaining software quality, and an ability to inspire and build the team. This manager leads a team of quality engineers assigned to Toptech’s deployed solutions product. The leader ensures software releases are on time and of highest standards, achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction. This requires expert organizational and communication skills. The ideal candidate is a technical expert as well as an outstanding leader of smart people who enjoys the challenge of developing & bringing out the best performance in others.
Environment

The position allows the individual to work in a comfortable causal team environment. People will have to think outside the box to come up with solutions to meet requirements our customers have of their terminal automation systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
Work with Director of Operations to design and implement a release schedule that is sustainable, and of high quality, balanced with project deliveries.
Assess, prioritize, and schedule tasks for the QA Team through sprint planning
Lead the daily management of the QA Team (daily scrums, retrospectives, and reprioritizations)
Construct and conduct regression test plans for major/minor releases
Manage the hiring process for the QA Team
Manage the performance of the QA Team through yearly reviews, goals, and career pathing
Manage the vacation and sick leave for QA Team
Provide technical leadership to assigned resources
Perform 5Y root cause analysis & develop counter measures as required
Ensure delivery commitments are being addressed according to the approved plans
Maintain an interactive working relationship with all technical members of the Operations Team to promote mutually beneficial communication during the testing process
Ensure team has been properly trained to perform their duties along with supporting records
Maintain formalized procedures for duties, and QA processes
Monitor metrics to ensure assigned resources are performing at the best performance levels
Identify ways to improve existing processes where appropriate
Ensure team adheres to approved software release program & development guidelines

Education and/or Experience: BS (or equivalent) in technology field, 10 years technology experience; including application analysis, design & project management. Track record leading cross-functional team of software development resources through the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
