Position Summary :

We’re looking for a Director of Innovation focused on growth and experience managing agile development teams. Our Director of Innovation will be responsible for maintaining/executing on the new product development funnel, applying incremental innovation on our existing lines, and expanding our pump capabilities through talent acquisition/team development/testing exploration. You’ll be managing an entire team of engineers, technicians, and developers to push the performance and customer value of our product offering as we expand into new markets / product technologies. This is a highly cross-functional and collaborative role. As such, the position will:

  • Develop/Improve processes and key performance metrics of the engineering team to focus on improving the prioritization of work / speed of development

  • Know how to recruit and develop top engineering talent

  • Develop standards and procedures to expediate testing/qualification while ensuring quality standards are met and maintained.

  • Recommends new technology and ideas to improve pump understanding and potential disruptive improvements on our product line

  • Build, develop, and manages the engineering team capable of carrying out initiatives

Strategic Development

  • Owns the planning and execution of the engineering department strategy, including input to short-range and long-range product and process improvement

  • Provides feedback to engineering managers on key strategic projects

  • Build relationships with product managers, business development managers, operations, and supply chain teams to improve the efficiency of the product launches and ensure the customer value is met

  • Builds robust funnel of organic projects / inorganic (acquisition) opportunities to expand/improve product portfolio

Education/Experience:

  • BA/BS in engineering or technical degree required

  • Five (5) years or more applicable experience in a heavily engineered manufacturing product or industrial durable products environment

  • Experience managing an engineering team

  • Demonstrated launching of new product and maintaining customer-backed product funnel

  • IoT experience a benefit

  • Proven success working closely with Product Management, contributing to the product strategy and helping to successfully deliver on the product roadmap

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with customers and work within a team environment

  • Proficient in market insights and analysis, business modeling and financial analysis; working knowledge of sales, marketing, business development, and project/product management processes

  • Must have high degree of leadership and ability to influence cross-functionally

  • Must be self-motivated, show initiative

  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively via remote methods (conf calls and email) and be able to support needs of global leadership team.

  • Excellent written and communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel: work with Sales Managers, and visit customers, prospects, and distributors
