As a Product Manager you will be responsible for commercialization and sustaining product activities by driving sustained growth and profitability in the Chromatography Business Line. This business develops high-performance fluidic components and sub-assemblies for the Chromatography market.
This key role requires a collaborative individual with strong organization and communication skills. You must have demonstrated track record of driving cross-functional teams that include engineering sales and marketing to achieve successful and predictable product releases. You will own portfolio strategy, to ensure alignment with business initiatives and will have key input to the business’ overall direction of its products and markets served. This includes product lifecycle management, portfolio strategy, voice of customer for prioritization & requirement gathering, defining the product vision, conducting market research and quarterly win/loss analysis to inform and drive the strategic roadmap. You will develop plans to ensure revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction targets are met. As a product manager you will champion and implement all new product, pricing and go -to- market strategies, by determining the most effective and successful approach to growing the product line.
What will you do?
As Product Manager, your primary focus will be on providing guidance on key information as it relates to the 4-P’s (Price, Product, Promotion, Place). You will have critical influence on the overall direction of the business. Therefore, we are seeking a champion, with a winning spirit, who can excel in the following areas:
Product Line Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic plan to drive profitable growth and product vitality. Collaborate with customers, operations, sales, engineering, and market development to identify and articulate opportunities to stakeholders. Work cross functionally to develop a product roadmap in relation to the portfolio and overall business strategy.
Product Lifecycle Management: Champion all phases (from new product through obsolescence) of the product lifecycle, including product rationalization with an 8020 mindset.
Product Development: Develop comprehensive product requirements based off voice of customer (VoC) and work cross functionally with strategic teams to generate business cases that aid in the justification and prioritization of new products or enhancements.
Pricing Excellence: Develop and & drive pricing excellence by implementing value-based product pricing strategies to maximize contribution margin dollars
Marketing Sales Collateral & Communications: Develop and deliver product/technology collateral, positioning documents, value propositions, SPIN Cards, educational content, product training, sales tools, and application specific targeting strategies to enable the sales team. Work closely with marketing on content generation to fulfill global marketing strategy campaigns.
Planning: Leads activities associated with setting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) including, reporting, and orders forecasting.
Competitive Intelligence: Competitive benchmarking and market share/trend analysis pricing and promotion. Develop market insight through voice of customer research, in-depth competitive analysis, and market segmentation. Deep understanding of market with the ability to identify opportunities segmentation. Deep understanding of market with the ability to identify opportunities
How will you do it?
Bring in your enthusiasm and roll up your sleeves to learn and execute with clear objectives. In the first 6-months, these are the expectation from you:
Learn the business’ products, customers, and competition
Establish key product roadmaps for a three-year horizon roadmap
Work collaboratively with Engineering to develop new products
Key driver in commercial process to over deliver to our larger customers
Establish deep understanding of the market, identifying growth opportunities of the annual strategic planning process
Absorb day-to-day activities as it relates to the products, price and promotion
What do we need?
Bachelor’s degree in related area. MBA or MS preferred
5+ years product management experience, with at least four of those years in developing or commercializing new products that serve the life sciences
Strategic mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities
Ability to understand and demonstrate technical products
International experience will be considered a plus
Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint required
You will need to be results-driven with a strong track record of successful execution of plans and growing responsibilities. It’s important to have the ability to understand a larger vision and break it down into strategic product plans to better serve and grow our markets and our customer base. You should have it in you to be a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and tremendous strength in team-building and leading cross-functional product development teams.
