Overall Purpose

ADS LLC is the leader in wastewater monitoring equipment and services and part of IDEX Corporation, a high-performing, global enterprise committed to making trusted solutions that improve lives. Accusonic is an ADS business line located in New Bedford, MA that is recognized as the market leader in high precision flow monitoring for the water, wastewater, and power generation markets.

The Accusonic Engineering organization is expanding to deliver advancements in its flow measurement product line and better serve global customers. This role will be pivotal in modernizing the approach to design, development and testing of the Accusonic hardware platform with specialization in circuit board layout design, product enhancements, and certification processes. This role also plays a critical role in supporting customers and will work collaboratively across the Sales, Project Management, and Engineering organization to produce world-class solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Transform the line of hardware products to deliver leading-edge solutions that leap ahead of the competition and solidify the company’s stance as an innovative trusted solutions advisor.

  • Provide the electronics engineering design of device circuitry to include researching, designing and testing of the electronic components of the hardware system. Experienced in the use of computer-assisted engineering and design software to aid in engineering tasks.

  • Maintain and provide product enhancements to the Accusonic flowmeter’s software (HMI) and user interface utility (Accuflow). Lead the design effort to improve user interfaces and align with modern user expectations, including the replacement of existing software and utilities such as Accuflow.

  • Implement a prototype and proof of concept feedback system that enables the ability to rapidly test mechanical, firmware and electronic component design assumptions.

  • Design and fabricate test control apparatus and equipment.

  • Manage and maintain an auditable certification process for assurance of product performance in potentially explosive atmospheres.

  • Assist in all aspects of hardware engineering, offering ideas and innovative concepts to solve problems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent professional experience required.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in PCB layout design required. Experience with TI DSP products preferred.

  • Software development experience required (Windows and Embedded Systems).

  • Working knowledge of the CSA Group certification processes and standards preferred.

  • Able to communicate effectively orally and in written form.
