Summary of Primary Function

The SQA engineer will be responsible for testing system requirements, identification, analysis, reporting, and tracking of defects and quality metrics, debugging, and driving corrective actions with accountability for releasing software products that meet established IDEX Energy specifications and standards. Supporting application software development as needed.

Specific Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain written test plans/automated test scripts/executing tests on PC and embedded platforms

• Execute integration/regression testing

• Perform system debugging of both software and control systems

• Discover, record, and report defects in bug tracking tool

• Communicate issues or roadblocks to management and developers

• Perform DFMEA and reliability testing

• Drive continuous improvement in the test process

• Builds partnerships with the product team, developers, with a mutual focus on product quality

Required Education and Experience

• B.S. Electrical Eng., Computer Eng., Computer Science

• 10+ years applicable post-graduate industrial experience

Required Skills

• Proficiency with advanced test methodologies, test automation, and test-driven development

• 5+ years testing using Linux/Windows/Android/IOS operating systems

• 5+ years software development, testing & debug C/C++/C#/Java/Python/Shell/Bash/SQL

• 5+ years Linux system administration and command line programming

• 5+ years’ experience using IDEs such as Microsoft Visual Studio or Eclipse

• 3+ years testing connectivity solutions such as wireless, Bluetooth, and cellular

• Working experience with DevOps tools i.e. Bitbucket/Git, Jenkins, Docker, Jira, SonarQube

• Proficient with SysML/UML tool suites to develop design diagrams and data models

• Experience using communication protocols i.e. RS232/485, CAN, MQTT, Modbus, Ethernet

• Proficient testing MCU peripherals: UART, USB, GPIO, I2C, SPI, PWM, TIMER, EMMC, SoM

• Electro-Mechanical experience desired
