POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality & EHS Manager is responsible for ensuring our products are manufactured according to established standards and for driving the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) culture for the business. This leader will work closely with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure requirements for new products transfer to manufacturing, conduct root cause & reliability assessments, and implement corrective & preventative actions. The ideal candidate will have experience interacting with customers, leading transformational change, and conducting near miss safety reviews.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALITY MANGEMENT SYSTEM & LEADERSHIP

  • Leads teams related to Production Quality, Reliability Engineering, Test & Inspection, and Continuous Improvement.

  • Responsible for the Quality Management System (ISO 9001), Quality Control & Test operations, and the Non-Conformance process.

  • Performs internal Audits, Reliability & Validation studies, and Safety Near Miss reviews; completes related corrective and preventive actions

  • Supports New Product Introductions (NPI) to ensure critical quality parameters are established and effectively transferred to manufacturing.

  • Influences internal stakeholders and owns the Environmental, Health and Safety program and processes

COST OF QUALITY & OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Establishes a process to track the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and leads projects to drive improvement.

  • Leads material review board (MRB) meetings and provides leadership for the effective disposition of non-conforming material; communicates performance to leadership (scrap, rework, etc.)

  • Drives the adoption of 80/20 and continuous improvement to improve the Cost of Quality, production capacity and operating costs.

  • Conducts root cause analyses on significant issues and implements effective containment, corrective, and preventative actions.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Experience working with site certifications such as ISO9001 and ISO14001

  • Experience with tracking Safety metrics (Near Miss, Recordable Incidents, First Aid Incidents)

  • Previous responsibility for the safety, quality, production, and people management in a production unit

  • Knowledge of 80/20 and Lean tools

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal problem-solving, and project management skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field. Relevant work experience in lieu of degree

  • +5 years of relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment

  • Formal Training or Certification in Lean, Root Cause Analysis or Six Sigma

  • Rotating Equipment experience (preferred)

  • Noise level is minimal with intervals of spikes.
