The Field Market Development Engineer will drive technical engagement with leading Semiconductor OEMs and fabs adding value to both PPE and our customers. The primary objective of the job is to increase our technical presence and hence market share by serving as an application and design specialist delivering sealing solutions and driving qualification of PPE products with target end-users. The Field Market Development Engineer will work closely with the product manager and all sales channels to develop products and support key OEM and Fab end user customers.
Using an understanding of material properties, engineering principals and application knowledge, provide technical design proposals and engineered solutions to meet customer specifications
Contribute to new product development and provide project scope and key measurement criteria
Drive qualification of PPE materials and products with target end-users
Provide technical support and be an interface between the customer, sales and operations
Provide innovative solutions to customer and industry problems, driving the development and manufacture of new products
Deliver technical presentations, generic and specialized training courses in elastomer sealing technology, design tools and advice to internal and external audiences
Identify customer and industry requirements including market trends through Voice of the Customer (VoC)
Assist the commercial function by providing technical information and data relating to strategic markets
Form close working relationships with key strategic customers
Represent and promote PPE at customer sites, technical seminars, trade shows and industry forums as a solutions provider and the 'go to' sealing company
Work across functional teams within the business including sales and channel partners
Experience, Qualifications and Skills:
Experienced in the use of 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferable) and MS office products
3+ years’ experience in polymer, sealing and/or semiconductor industry
Knowledge of the Semiconductor industry and applications, familiarity of semiconductor processing equipment and wafer fab environment is an advantage
Experience and skills in consultative and value selling would be an advantage
Exceptional problem-solving skills with a methodical and structured approach
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Experience in developing and executing product, marketing and sales strategies
Strong business acumen with market sensitivity
MSc, BSc or equivalent in a relevant science or engineering discipline
