As a business unit of IDEX Corporation, GAST Manufacturing US (Global headquarters/manufacturing), with her subsidiary GAST Group Ltd. in the UK (EMEA head office/logistic center), has a long history of being the leader in design and manufacturing of Air compressors, Vacuum pumps and Air Motors sold to the market under the brand names of GAST, JUN-AIR and Element7. We specialize in offering added value solutions for a wide variety of industries including Industrial manufacturing, Healthcare, Beverage and Environmental applications. We are currently looking to add more talent to our EMEA team.

To support our European Sales Team we are looking for you (based remotely in Southern Europe) as a

Business Development Manager (m/f) OEMs

The Business Development Manager Southern Europe and Middle East will be charged with growing the region by winning business with new direct OEM accounts for approximately 80% of the time and managing and growing existing distributors and key direct accounts for the remaining 20% of the time. This individual will support all vertical business lines across the Gast enterprise and will work closely with the Sr. Sales Manager EMEA as member of the commercial team.

The position requires up to 60% overnight travel (EU and ME). It is based remotely in Italy, France or Spain.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

80% Strong focus on winning new direct sales in core strategic markets, but not limited to, Laboratory, Beverage and Energy. Maintain an effective working relationship with existing OEM’s and distributors in the region, find new strategic distributors and growing distribution and OEM sales through support.

20% Support day to day execution of enterprise initiatives and commercial programs of the Gast and Jun-Air Business (Rocking Piston, Systems, Air Motors, Aftermarket). Provide accurate and timely communications to internal and external constituents, orders forecast, new business opportunities, pricing, technical application details, etc. Define changing market conditions and competitive issues. Identify market needs and opportunities, creating a sustainable competitive advantage and focus on value sale.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Sales, Marketing or Technical field

  • At least 5 years equivalent work experience with proven professional sales and/or account management experience

  • Strong business developer with a proven track record of creating and winning new direct business

  • Experience with Distributors and sales channel management

  • Proven track record of delivering sales results while maintaining customer satisfaction

  • Industry experience preferred within e.g. the pneumatic, beverage, laboratory space preferred

  • Excellent communication/presentation skills (written and verbal in English and at least one other EU language, preferably Italian, French or Spanish)
