SUMMARY

  • Under limited supervision, evaluates and improves end of line testing processes to improve first pass yields, improve data integrity and reduce test time and cost. Works closely with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to disposition and help resolve problems with components using the Reject Reporting and CLCA processes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Troubleshoot pumps, drives and test equipment including automated equipment controlled by PLC and PC applications, implements improvements or repairs and updates documentation.

  • Prepares apparatus and conducts a variety of tests on pumps, drives or components for engineering projects and prototype builds.

  • Conduct root cause investigation and analysis to identify key features or processes that need improvement.

  • Participate in process improvement projects to assure effectiveness and timely closure.

  • Fabricate, or assist in the fabrication of test equipment and special parts production.

  • Prepares Engineering Change Notices as directed to change or correct documentation, dimensions, tolerances, and other specifications.

  • Collects data and prepares summary reports and performance charts and graphs from test results as needed.

  • Applies practical knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, machinery, and manufacturing processes

  • Performs calibration of hydraulic, electronic, and mechanical equipment as necessary and maintains records.

  • Controls the use of lab equipment and tools to prevent damage, abuse, or injury.

  • Utilizes Six Sigma and Lean principles as applicable to reduce process variation, eliminate non-value-added activities and eliminate defects.

  • Uses performance and SPC data to solve problems and identify areas in need of improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent with the ability to easily perform mathematical calculations using algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

  • 2 years of college including science and math courses preferred.

  • Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English.

  • At least 2 years of experience as mechanical or electrical / electronics technician and/or quality assurance in a manufacturing environment required.

  • Practical mechanical aptitude, knowledge of instrumentation and sensors and ability to read blueprints is required.

  • Knowledge of pump and fractional horsepower motor operation is preferred.

  • Regular and Reliable Attendance.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
