IDEX Project Engineering Assistant in Canada

Overall Purpose

The PEA will assist the Region Engineering, Operations and Sales team in the completion of project specific tasks and sales opportunities. This position has a several key responsibilities to include:

  • Conducting hydraulic analysis and writing reports for project deliverables

  • Work closely with the Project Engineering Assistant Manager (PEAM) and Regional Project Management to create reports that answer customers most pressing needs for collection system management.

  • Be available to support project management and the sales team in the development and promotion of ADS in the region and lower Canadian mainland.

Responsibilities

Supports the PEAM and Region Engineer in the completion of specific project tasks and deliverables. Typical projects include Infiltration and Inflow Analysis, Capacity Analysis and Recommendations, Sewer System Evaluation Surveys, and other reports. Works closely with PEAM to ensure quality of data delivered to clients. Works closely with other engineering elements to develop and optimize data presentation, data analysis, and data reporting techniques and methods. Responsible for assisting ADS to ensure Its reputation as the industry leader by writing and presenting approved technical papers at national and local trade shows and trade journals. Performs work which involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination requirements. Completes special projects as requested.

Requirements

SKILLS - Strong technical writing and technical presentation skills are a must. Computer literacy and analytical skills are required, with ability to quickly learn proprietary software systems. Must display basic understanding of hydraulics, with specific focus on open channel and pipe flow. Have a working knowledge of flow monitoring.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE – Bachelor of Science degree from an ECPD (Engineer’s Council for Professional Development) accredited curriculum, or equivalent. Either Professional Engineering (P.E.) registration, Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certification or Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T) is required, and 0-6 years of experience in civil/wastewater engineering preferred.
