Position Summary

The Test Engineer will Design, Troubleshoot and Execute tests to ensure that custom parts and machines meet functional, safety, and regulatory standards. This role involves collaborating with Engineering, R&D and Operation/Production teams to identify testing requirements and methodologies.

Essential Functions

  • Design and develop test plans, procedures, and specifications for new products.

  • Perform testing of mechanical, electrical, and software components to verify product functionality and compliance with specifications.

  • Analyze test results, prepare reports, and make recommendations for product improvements.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve testing issues and refine product designs.

  • Work with Assembly team to resolve issues involving assembly, WO, Parts.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements during testing.

  • Ability to read and translate engineering drawing

  • Standardize and optimize the FAT process

  • Troubleshoot and setup machine for internal testing or Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)

  • Generate and Review Engineering and/or Test related documentation

  • Write purchase request for tools, parts, devices required for assembly team

  • Fill out machine testing documents and maintain records

  • Ensures that all projects are accurately documented in timely fashion

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of test engineering principles and methodologies.

  • Experience with testing systems, test equipment, and data analysis tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Familiarity with industry regulations and quality standards.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Engineering Technician or Professional Engineer

  • Ability to read engineering drawings (Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Mechanical, Electrical)

  • Understanding of AutoCAD and SolidWorks

  • Microsoft Office proficient (MS Word, Excel etc.)

  • Hands On

  • Ability to utilize logic, along with Mechanical and Electrical experience to solve problems

  • Ability to work and manage multiple projects

  • Should be familiar with ERP and document vaulting programs

  • Knowledge of Materials, Mechanisms, Hydraulics and Pneumatics

  • Great written and oral communication skills

  • Must be a team player and have ability to work independently

  • Basic understanding of PLC programming and Knowledge of C, C++ would be an asset

  • Travel might be required

EDUCATION

  • Associates degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering experience

EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of professional relevant experience

COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to troubleshoot and setup machine to be ready for testing

  • Ability to generate engineering documentation

  • Ability to execute engineering change orders and manage related tasks

  • Ability to utilize logic, along with mechanical experience to solve problems

  • Ability to trouble shoot electrical control circuits 0-20mA, 0-10 VDC; configure instruments.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects

  • Work in mix of standing, sitting, bending and in tight position
