The Application Engineer will drive technical engagement with leading Semiconductor OEMs and fabs adding value to both Trebor and our customers. The primary objective of the job is to increase our technical presence and hence market share by serving as an application and design specialist delivering pumping and heating solutions and driving qualification of Trebor products with target customers. The Application Engineer will work closely with all sales channels to support key OEM and Fab end user customers.
Essential Job Functions
Provide product application, selection and troubleshooting assistance to distributors, end users, internal sales, and external sales personnel where a high degree of expertise is required.
Using an understanding of fluid and thermal dynamics, engineering principals and application knowledge, provide technical proposals and engineered solutions to meet customer specifications.
Provide pre and post-sales technical support for internal and external customers.
Provide a technical interface between the sales and manufacturing functions.
Provide innovative solutions to customer and industry problems, managing and assisting in the development and manufacture of new products.
Deliver technical presentations, generic and specialized training courses in pumping and heating technology and advice to internal and external audiences.
Represent and promote Trebor at customer sites, technical seminars, trade shows and industry forums as a solutions provider and the 'go to' company.
Assist in preparation of published technical documents such as Technical Service Manuals and white papers covering product and process descriptions.
Participate in direct sales and troubleshooting calls as required by field sales.
Participate in new product projects as required with regards to application review process and technical service concerns
Assist the commercial function by providing technical information and data relating to strategic markets
Assist the marketing function by providing technical information and data relating to strategic markets.
Form close working relationships with key strategic customers
Work across functional teams within the business including sales and channel partners
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions
Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills via phone, email, and in person required.
Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
Frequent contact with distributors and users, internal and external sales personnel, marketing personnel, and engineering personnel.
General manufacturing, warehouse, and office environment.
BS Degree in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering or engineering discipline
Minimum 3 years’ experience in engineering discipline
Strong engineering background with the ability to work from first principals
Knowledge of the Semiconductor industry and applications, familiarity of semiconductor wet cleaning equipment and wafer fab environment is an advantage
Ability to use 3D CAD essential (preferably SolidWorks) and MS Office products
Exceptional problem-solving skills with a methodical and structured approach
Ability to speak Japanese an advantage
Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written abilities
Confident when dealing with internal and external customers
Experience and skills in consultative and value selling would be an advantage
Experience in developing and executing product, marketing and sales strategies
Strong business acumen with market sensitivity
