SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTION
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer. In this you will engineer, test, analyze, and optimize electro-mechanical systems. You are empowered to push boundaries by working closely with all groups involved and help drive for the best overall outcome. You will contribute by:
Developing highly predictive finite element models in collaboration with a small team of design engineers.
Performing modal, linear/non-linear, durability/fatigue, random vibration and shock analysis to evaluate structures and recommend design solutions that balance the needs of engineering, suppliers, and product management.
Working with systems engineers develop load cases and cycle counts to be used for component level test in order to satisfy program and industry requirements.
Working with both internal and external testing groups for model verification and validation.
Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products
Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs
Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration
Perform engineering calculations to support design work
Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION LEVEL, SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
5-7 years of mechanical engineering and testing experience with electro-mechanical systems or related
Working experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
Familiarity with 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., Solid Works)
Adequate knowledge of engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, ProMechanica or similar)
Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (MATLAB, Excel, LabView etc.)
Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.
Creativity and analytical skills
Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
Technical writing skills
Ability to gather and accurately assess root cause data and identify critical inputs
Excellent communication and presentation skills
